Wheezy, affectionately known as the “sweetest old man,” is about to celebrate a very special birthday—a day that marks not just another year, but the beginning of his journey to healing and happiness. Wheezy was surrendered to the Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County in Washington state when his previous owners could no longer care for him. Despite arriving hairless, itchy, and suffering from a painful skin infection caused by severe allergies, Wheezy’s gentle spirit has remained unbroken.
The Humane Society described the heartbreaking condition in which Wheezy was found: his entire body was covered in raw, irritated skin and open sores, leaving him cold and exhausted from years of constant itching. Yet, even in his discomfort, Wheezy’s one wish is simple—to be loved. He leans into every gentle touch, seeking the comfort and affection he so desperately needs.
As Wheezy’s birthday approaches, the dedicated team at the shelter is working tirelessly to give him the medical care, nourishing food, and loving support that will help him recover.
