Strawberry’s Sweet 3rd Birthday: A Celebration of Love and Second Chances

Strawberry, the beloved “unicorn dog,” is now celebrating her 3rd birthday—an incredible milestone for a dog who almost didn’t get the chance to experience life’s joys. After enduring a rough start, hopping from shelter to shelter, and narrowly escaping euthanasia, this lovable pit bull has found her forever home with the Kuhlman family in South Pasadena. Today, her birthday is all about celebrating the love and happiness she now brings into the world.

A Journey of Survival Strawberry’s journey to this day was far from easy. When she was first rescued by the La Belle Foundation in Los Angeles, she was covered in painful scratches, with goopy eyes and a swollen face that included two large lumps on her head. Shelters initially believed the lump was a tumor, and she was on the verge of being put down. However, after thorough examinations, it was revealed that the lumps were just scar tissue from an old injury, not life-threatening at all.

Once Strawberry recovered, she was ready for adoption, and that’s when the Kuhlman family saw her and fell in love. “Something about her spoke to me,” said Kristen Kuhlman. The family, still mourning the loss of their 15-year-old dog, decided to take the leap and bring Strawberry into their lives, giving her the chance she had been waiting for.

Birthday Snuggles and Love Now, on her 3rd birthday, Strawberry is surrounded by the love and affection she always deserved. “She’s the best snuggler,” said Claire Kuhlman, one of the family’s twin children. Strawberry’s hefty frame may make her a little hard to handle at times, but that just makes her cuddles all the sweeter.

The Kuhlman family has embraced every bit of Strawberry’s quirky personality, including her unique unicorn-like bump on her head. Her name, which came with her, fits perfectly, and they’ve even found strawberry-themed accessories to match. “It all seemed to work,” laughed Jeff Kuhlman, the father of the family.

A Day to Celebrate Second Chances Strawberry’s birthday is a day of celebration—not just for her, but for the family who adopted her. The kids look forward to coming home from school to play fetch with Strawberry and snuggle up with her, while neighbors roll down their car windows to shout, “Hey, Strawberry!” whenever they see her.

It’s hard to believe that such a sweet, gentle dog was once scheduled to be euthanized. But now, on her 3rd birthday, Strawberry is a living testament to the power of second chances and the love of a family who couldn’t resist giving her a forever home.

Happy Birthday, Strawberry! You’ve brought endless joy to your new family, and today is all about celebrating you and the incredible love that fills your life. Here’s to many more birthdays filled with happiness, snuggles, and playful fetch sessions! ❤️
