Basil’s story could have ended in tragedy, but thanks to the swift action of Animal Aid of Tulsa and the support of The Waggle Foundation, she’s been given a second chance at life. When Basil was first discovered, she was in a shelter with a broken jaw and only days away from being euthanized. Her situation was dire, and the clock was ticking.
Yvonne H., a dedicated member of the rescue team, knew they couldn’t let that happen. “We agreed to pull her and get her to one of our vets,” she recalls. Despite her severe injury, Basil’s spirit remained unbroken. She greeted the rescue staff with wagging tail and an eagerness to connect, as if she knew help had finally arrived.
“Even with her mangled jaw, she came right up to employees as if to ask for help with her injuries,” says Lisa, another team member. Basil’s friendliness and resilience have made her a favorite among everyone she meets. She’s a model patient, unafraid of strangers and eager to make new friends.
