Her merciless owners dumped her by the road without the slightest concern for what would happen to her next.
A Heartbreaking Beginning
Teasel curled up on the side of the road, feeling confused and terrified. Her heart didn’t want to give up hope of hearing the familiar voices of her owners calling her name again. She remained in her spot, even when it rained, still believing that her family would come back for her.
Heroes Come To Save Teasel
As soon as Laura Myatt, a rescuer at Sadie Dog Rescue, received a video and images about a blind dog abandoned on the side of the road, she went to look for her. When Laura arrived, she found Teasel lying under a bush, her head bent, and her eyes filled with sorrow and confusion. A kind-hearted man had been feeding Teasel for days, but she didn’t move from her spot, holding on to the hope that her owners would return.
Laura’s heart broke when she saw Teasel’s condition. She gently approached Teasel, caressed her head, and secured her with a leash. Teasel was hesitant but allowed herself to be led to safety. Laura drove Teasel to Sadie Dog Rescue, where the staff received her with open arms and showered her with the love and care she desperately needed.

Two weeks after her rescue, Teasel began to wag her tail whenever she heard Laura’s voice. Her rescuers took her to the vet for a medical checkup, where they discovered a possible metastatic mammary tumor. Despite this setback, Teasel’s spirit began to shine through. She started warming up to Laura and her other human friends, soaking up all their cuddles.
A New Chapter
Laura shared on Facebook that the staff took Teasel to an eye specialist, who unfortunately revealed that Teasel’s vision couldn’t be restored. However, the specialist noted that Teasel had adjusted well to her blindness. The doctor also recommended that Teasel’s left eye be removed due to glaucoma.
Finding a Forever Home
Teasel’s story took a turn for the better when a wonderful woman fell in love with her and decided to become her forever mom. Teasel’s new mom would be by her side, doting on her while she recovered from her surgery. Before leaving for her new home, Teasel said goodbye to her human friends who had been there for her during her darkest days.
The rescuers were overjoyed to see their sweet girl find her happily-ever-after. Teasel would finally receive all the love she deserved and live a life filled with joy and comfort.

When Myatt came to the location, she found the abandoned dog, later named Teasel, lying under a bush by the road.
Myatt’s heart became filled with sadness after she saw how terrified and let down Teasel felt. The pooch kept her head bent, and she had a sorrowful and confused look on her lovely face. Fortunately, a kind-hearted man fed Teasel for days.
According to him, the faithful dog didn’t move from her spot, not even when it rained. She kept believing that her owners would take her home.
Myatt approached Teasel and caressed her head, but the doggo shied away. The rescuer felt brokenhearted and wondered whether the dog ever received love from her owners.
Myatt gently secured Teasel with a leash and drove her to Sadie Dog Rescue.

Unfortunately, at her first appointment, the vet revealed that Teasel possibly had a metastatic mammary tumor, but more testing needed to be done to get more information.
After about a month, Teasel began coming out of her shell and revealing her adorable disposition. She started warming up to Myatt and her other human friends and soaking up all their cuddles.
Myatt shared on her Facebook that the staff took Teasel to an eye specialist. Sadly, the doctor said that the pup’s vision couldn’t be restored, but that she adjusted very well.
The rescuer also shared that the delightful canine would need to have her left eye removed due to glaucoma.
